Introduction to cats
What is a cat?
A cat is a creature covered in fur,
Captivating us humans with its purr.
It can be loving when it wants to be,
To give it a stoke, brings us harmony.
Upon our laps it will settle to sleep.
A loving creature is a cat to keep.
However, it is on the cats’ terms alone,
That its affection for us is ever shown.
It rules the home and decides just what to do,
And when it chooses too, it will ignore you.
It will sleep where it wants, then best left in peace,
As for its meals, it will insist on a feast!
Just why do we let our cats treat us so?
I am not sure that I will ever know.
Perhaps it is the way it makes me feel,
When it comes for a stroke after its meal.
The way its presence eases my strife,
When it comes to cats, I am hooked for life.
