The flowers say that spring is now here
Where has the spring gone? It should now be in view,
The crocuses are saying this is true.
The skies are still grey, they’re hiding the sun,
But the primroses tell me spring has begun.
The wind is howling upon this new day,
Within its cold breath, the daffodils sway.
The rain is still falling out of the skies,
But against all of this, the snowdrops rise.
The weather is dull, the cold is still near,
But the flowers say that spring is now here.
Up in the trees just bare branches are seen,
But look closer and their tips are now green.
All of these clues tell us spring is nearby,
It’s just being hidden by the grey sky.
Soon the sun will find a way to break through,
Then spring will arrive, it’s long overdue.
