Please be at peace with me, my friend (poem)

Let’s become friends

Please be at peace with me, my friend

Please be at peace with me, my friend,
Even though strangers we may be.
Let our anger come to an end,
Let us set our harmony free.

Please come and sit with me, just here,
Let us spend time with each other.
Do not be afraid to come near,
Come, let us greet one another.

Please accept my hand of friendship,
Through the confusion of today.
From the cup of peace, let us sip,
Let our promises find a way.

Please talk to me about your ways,
Let me learn about how you live.
Let us talk of happier days,
With each other, learn to forgive.

Please now walk with me, by my side,
Let us find our way together.
Let understanding be our guide,
Let our peace remain forever.

Oh no! Where do I go? (poem)

Finding a way

Oh no! Where do I go?

Oh no! Where do I go?
Look right, nothing’s in sight,
Look left, it’s all bereft.
Look high, it’s all just sky,
Look low, nothing below.
It’s clear, there’s nothing here!

What now! Get out somehow?
Where to? nothing’s in view,
Which way? Best not to stray,
Let’s muse, how do I choose?
Just start, follow your heart,
Just be, time to step free.

Let’s go! So much to know,
Learn more, go out the door.
Look far, search for a star,
Walk fast, release the past.
Just run, go have some fun,
Stand still, life can be real.

Look round, A path is found!
New way, a better day.
New light, new hope’s in sight,
Move on, start to feel strong.
Just smile, life is worthwhile,
Be you, your life renew.

Kindness, A user’s guide (poem)

Let kindness guide you

Kindness, a user’s guide

Within all of us, kindness can be found,
Just take a piece and add it to your day.
Keep it with you, wherever you are bound,
And let kindness guide you along your way.

So how can you find it when you are lost?
Can it be found amid uncertainty?
Know this, that kindness comes without a cost,
It is found all around, because it’s free.

Even within emptiness, kindness lives,
Even in confusion, kindness will grow,
Even in times of hardship, kindness gives,
The light of kindness is always on show.

Kindness can soon appear within a smile,
At a moment when someone is in need.
That tells them that their struggle is worthwhile,
That one day soon, their journey will succeed.

Kindness can be a hand that’s reaching out,
Or a gesture that says it is okay.
Kindness can restore hope that’s lost in doubt,
Use it to help others to find their way.

Kindness is found within a gentle voice,
Giving them encouragement to be strong.
Saying to them there is a better choice,
To not give up and just to carry on.

Kindness is a gift there for you to share,
That once given, may fade away from view.
Yet, kindness never leaves you standing there,
For kindness is still living within you.

Blue skies from Storm clouds (poem)

Clear skies return

Blue skies from Storm clouds

There’s a touch of blue,
Coming into view,
Are those grey storm clouds departing at last?
There’s just a small zone,
Standing all alone,
Does it mean this storm is now in the past?

It’s slightly less dark,
It’s not quite so stark?
There’s another patch of blue I can see.
There’s a patchwork sky,
I can see up high,
From those storm clouds, the sky is breaking free.

There’s more blue than grey,
A brightening day,
Even the sun is now showing its face.
It is getting warm,
From this fading storm,
As the sun begins to dry up this place.

Now it is just blue,
With no clouds in view,
The storms but a memory in my mind.
The sun is on show,
So out I shall go,
To enjoy the freshness, it’s left behind.
