The library can’t survive without him
Lewy, the library cat
Lewy is the cat who calls the library his home,
His knows where each book on every shelf is found.
Down every corridor he will frequently roam,
That you’ll soon get used to seeing him walking around.
A box has arrived, there are new books to discover!
So he climbs in, for they all need to be inspected.
Carefully he examines each book by its cover,
Just in case any of them need to be rejected.
There is a stack of books waiting to be put away,
So he sits on them and meows to make you aware,
That you should be sorting them all out today,
Rather than drinking coffee, sitting in your chair.
He will escort you to where each of the books must go,
Staying close by your side as you push the trolley along.
For it is part of his job to make sure that you know,
Exactly where upon the bookshelf the books belong.
