I Make Mistakes (poem)

I Make Mistakes

I make mistakes, but then so do we all,
There will be times when we stumble and fall.
There will be times when we say the wrong thing,
And face the anger that those words may bring.
But there will be times when we get it right,
Bring to their faces a look of delight.
Which one today will bring, we may not know,
All we can do is just give it a go.
All we can do in life is try our best,
And when it is done, sit down for a rest.

Mistakes can be teachers, showing us more,
A better understanding than before.
The lessons we learn can help make us strong.
Remembering them, before we go wrong.
Learn to hold back when things go the wrong way,
Or to step forward, if it helps today.
If a mistake is too big to repair,
Then pick up the wisdom found left in there.
Whatever we learn can help tomorrow,
There will be a way to heal the sorrow.

The Candle of Hope (poem)

The Candle of Hope

© Jenny Maryl

The candle of hope, a small beacon of light,
One tiny flame that will always burn bright.
So tiny in size, that it is almost not there,
But set it alight and it will spread everywhere.

So small that you feel that it cannot last long,
But throughout all the darkness, it will shine strong.
Through all the shadows of doubt, it will hold fast,
Burning within you until all the doubts pass.

It will still shine strong during your darkest day,
Bringing you fresh hope and then lighting the way.
Chasing out those fears that are hiding in you,
For the candle of hope will always shine through.
