Without Blame (World poem)

This poem compliments the ‘Without peace’ poem.

Without Blame

Beyond blame, lives a time without hope,
Beyond blame, is found a life without care.
Lost in a world that cannot cope,
Lost in a world that’s going nowhere.

Before blame, can forgiveness begin,
Before blame, can understanding heal.
Found in a world where hope can win,
Found in a world where love can feel.

Without blame, we can work together,
Without blame, we can all find a way,
To get us through this stormy weather,
Leading us all to a brighter day.

Let calmness lead us to renew,
The goodness found within humankind.
Together, we can all get through,
Together, a peaceful world we can find.

An Extra Day! (poem)

An Extra Day!

An extra day! And one that was never planned to be.
So, by good fortune, I just happen to have it free.
What shall I make of it? For there is so much I could do.
So much that I could explore, before this day is through.

As this day begins, I have no place that I must go,
So, if I wanted to, I could just watch the garden grow,
Sit back, take it easy… Or shall I go out for a walk?
Seek the company of friends and find a place we can talk.

Perhaps there’s somewhere I could go, help out for the day,
And make this world a better place, in some special way.
I know that within me, I have some skills that I can share,
So maybe have a day, where I show the world that I care.

Let this day end in a better place than at the start,
Let this day end with knowing I have given it my heart.
That whether I was busy, calm, alone or with friends,
Peace I did find, and happiness is there when it ends.

Hugs, hearts and rainbows (short poems)

Hugs, hearts and rainbows

Accepting a hug

Accept a hug in joyfulness,
Let it wrap you in its loving embrace.
Let it pass on its happiness,
And set a smile upon your face.

Beginning with the heart

When something new,
Comes into your view,
It can bring uncertainty on where to start.
Just look within,
On where to begin,
For the best guide is your own loving heart.

Life’s inner rainbow

Life’s inner rainbow comes in many shades and hues,
Within every part of us these colours do dwell.
So whenever you feel you are just living in the blues,
Glance around, for the other colours are there as well.

Growing Old Together (poem)

Growing Old Together

Although we are older now,
You still look young to me.
I can remember just how,
The life we shared use to be.

My mind may be slowing,
My body is not so strong.
But my love is still growing,
And with you I still belong.

I will be there to the end,
By your side for eternity.
My lover and truest friend,
Forever to be with me.

Bedtime child (poem)

Bedtime child

The story telling is over, the book is placed back upon the shelf,
Carefully going round the lamp to avoid knocking off the elf,
A peacefulness upon their face, a busy day now at an end,
Reading, writing and drawing, then playing with a friend.

Straightening up the coronet, putting the cover on the crown,
Picking up the tablecloth that became that day, a gown,
The jigsaw’s left abandoned, scattered around the floor,
The animals have lost their box, found hiding behind the door.

The bed moves slightly, a final adjustment to where they lay,
Before descending deeper into the dream world where they play,
Then leaving them to their dreaming, and switching off the light,
Another childhood day now over, and another restful night.

The joy of living (poem)

The joy of living

The joy of living and giving,
Brings a happiness to us all.
To be loving and forgiving,
Helps to heal a wound if we fall.

The joy of caring and sharing,
Brings harmony into our life.
With your own life, be sparing.
And to others, help ease their strife.

The joy of being and seeing,
Lets us know our humanity.
If our inner peace we are freeing,
It will help to bring serenity.

The joy of knowing and showing,
That a better person we are.
Helps the world to keep on growing,
And lets our kindness travel far.

The gift of a smile (poem)

The gift of a smile

A smile can bring forgiveness and a healing to the heart.
A chance to bring a nearness to those who are far apart.
A chance to bridge a divide and for hope to start again,
Love and joy it cannot hide, nor can bitter words remain.

A smile can save a moment, a key to tensions door,
A moving to atonement, a chance to reassure.
It gives a silent greeting to a stranger who’s in need,
Eases stress in a meeting and causes fear to recede.

A smile can bring happiness to those who are feeling low,
Release them from their sadness and help their spirit grow.
Help an injured soul to mend and to heal their pain within,
Brings anger to an end, so a better life can begin.
