A life tossed into confusion (poem)

Life never stays the same

A life tossed into confusion

A life tossed into confusion, there’s too much going on!
What was is no more, just where in this world do I belong?
What I knew in my yesterday is not part of today,
The life that was within myself has gone another way.

The outside’s also changing, not all is where it should be,
Quite what will stay and what will go, I have yet to see.
Some things are being changed by others, some are all my own,
Some things won’t change at all, I think they are best left alone.

For now let’s deal with the inner me, find some shape once more,
Or at least hold it all together, not spread around the floor.
I will sit a while, reflect a bit, watch the clouds go by,
Maybe just accept all this, without understanding why.

My life is no longer what I thought life was all about,
But I know with my life, it’s up to me to sort it out.
Whichever way life tosses me, these changes I must face,
Wherever I land in life, I will explore that new place.

Life is neither good or bad, I’m just facing the unknown,
A scary place when you see that the past you have outgrown.
I’ll just let the changes happen, then choose the path to take,
Whatever happens in my life, that choice is mine to make.

Starting a new life, part 3, arrival (poem)

This is part 3 of 3, part 1, the preparation, and part 2, the journey, are in the previous blogs

A new life found

Starting a new life, part 3, the arrival

I have arrived at a beginning, a new life to start,
A new world to explore that, from my past stands far apart.
On the edge of this new life, I can feel both hope and fear,
How will this new life treat me? Can I let this unknown near?
The sun has risen upon me, giving a clearer view,
It’s time to stop this hesitating, time to trust the new.

There is a place here for me, and off to there I shall go,
Then once I’ve unpacked my bits, this life I will get to know.
New people for me to meet, new places for me to see,
For a while I’ll just drift around, peacefully and carefree.
Then comes the challenge, to build a life where I will fit in,
So let’s find what I can do, and where my kindness can win.

Happiness is a moment away, inside us it sits,
It follows on from kindness, in its silhouette it fits.
Giving a part of myself, sharing myself where there’s need,
Will bring new life to me, growing in my heart as a seed.
Knowing that I make a difference, is my life’s new start,
But wherever you look, somewhere in life you play a part

Starting a new life, part 2, the journey (poem)

This is part 2 of 3, part 1, the preparation, and part 3, the arrival, are in adjacent blogs

Life on the move

Starting a new life, part 2, the journey

This journey towards a new life, is more than just a place,
If I want a new life, it’s my emotions I must face.
They are the greater challenge, to become better within,
And releasing all my anger, is where I shall begin.
I will not take it with me, as I travel round each bend,
I will find my peace, before this journey comes to an end.

I shall discard the bad memories, make space for the new,
Find the beauty in this world, enjoy all thats comes in view.
When I cross a bridge, I will toss my prejudices away,
I will pick up understanding, as I walk through this day.
If I meet a stranger, could I turn them into a friend?
There’s so much to learn, before this journey comes to an end.

I will let my hope set sail, let it seek the good in life,
Collect the strength to carry on, to cope with all my strife.
To seek a kinder world, a better life for me to live,
So much has life to offer, and so much have I to give.
I will seek a place to share my love, where my wounds can mend,
It’s coming into view, as this journey comes to an end.

Starting a new life, part 1, preparation (poem)

This is part 1 of 3, part 2, the journey, and part 3, the arrival, will appear in the next 2 blogs

Preparing for your life to change

Starting a new life, part 1, preparation

A new life will be starting, with the ending of this day,
The life that I once knew, has now been safely packed away.
The life that is to follow it, is hovering close by,
And with tomorrow’s sunrise, bring clarity to the sky.
My life’s in preparation, there’s just one more night to go,
In those first hints of dawn, a new life I will start to know.

Just for now I must be patient, to sort out what to take,
What will travel with me, on this journey that I will make.
So much I’ll leave behind, with some things I’ll never finish,
As slowly into my past, their presence will diminish.
For in tomorrow, a new life is waiting to unfold,
And with its coming, a new story ready to be told.

This long night has now ended, tomorrow has now begun,
The promises of this new day, kissed by the rising sun.
My new life is beginning, I am setting off at last,
It’s unfolding there before me, it’s time to leave my past.
Time to take the bits I’ve chosen, time to be on my way,
I’ll leave the rest behind, for they’re now part of yesterday.

A day of my own to enjoy (poem)

The freedom of a day

A day of my own to enjoy

Let the breeze blow through my hair,
Upon this day, clear and bright.
My time is my own to bare,
I am off to find some new sight.

Maybe a walk to the park,
With its woodlands by the lake.
There’s hours yet before its dark,
And plenty of paths to take.

There’s a one-day antiques fair,
With stalls in the playing field.
I could wander around there,
And see what goodies they yield.

I could treat myself to tea,
There’s that canal pub to try.
Let them bring the food to me,
As I watch the boats go by.

Perhaps I’ll head to the beach,
And walk barefoot in the sand.
That old lighthouse, I could reach,
If I walk round the headland.

I could go to the cliff top,
In time to watch the sunset.
At the food van I could stop,
Where a coffee I can get.

In the end it matters not,
Which out of all these, I choose.
For this free day I have got,
So in the end, I cannot lose.

Oh no! Where do I go? (poem)

Finding a way

Oh no! Where do I go?

Oh no! Where do I go?
Look right, nothing’s in sight,
Look left, it’s all bereft.
Look high, it’s all just sky,
Look low, nothing below.
It’s clear, there’s nothing here!

What now! Get out somehow?
Where to? nothing’s in view,
Which way? Best not to stray,
Let’s muse, how do I choose?
Just start, follow your heart,
Just be, time to step free.

Let’s go! So much to know,
Learn more, go out the door.
Look far, search for a star,
Walk fast, release the past.
Just run, go have some fun,
Stand still, life can be real.

Look round, A path is found!
New way, a better day.
New light, new hope’s in sight,
Move on, start to feel strong.
Just smile, life is worthwhile,
Be you, your life renew.

A blank piece of paper (poem)

A place for the imagination

A blank piece of paper

A blank piece of paper sitting there in front of you,
Revealing nothing, but with so much there you can do.
A place you can write or draw, the choice is yours this day,
Just pick up a pen or pencil and doddle away!
It doesn’t have to make sense, just release what’s in your mind,
It’s amazing what’s in there, waiting for you to find.
Perhaps just a few squiggles, to the top or to the side,
Or slap bang in the middle, a circle can reside.

Some words could be written, whatever comes into your head,
You could write them backwards, or upside-down instead.
Once you start writing, more words may start to come along
Who knows, you could even end up writing a new song.
You could add in a drawing, fill up an empty space,
Lots of little doddles going all over the place.
When you have done and there’s nothing left you want to try,
You could make a paper aeroplane and let it fly.

Oh no! Where do I go? (poem)

What to do when you are lost

Oh no! Where do I go?

Oh no! Where do I go?
Which of these footpaths should I take?
Go right? What’s now in sight?
Which of these choices should I make?

Just sit, rest for a bit,
Just take a moment to be still.
Sit back, life’s not so black,
Let the world walk pass as it will.

Look high, see a blue sky,
For beyond grey clouds it is blue.
Look low, see the plants grow,
Nature’s world is now in your view.

Sunlight, is now in sight,
It’s coming to where you now are.
Moonlight, fills up the night,
Just relax and look at your star.

New hope, you can now cope,
Within you there’s the path you need.
Look in, life can begin,
Within you there grows a new seed.

Stand up, drink from life’s cup,
You are all that you need to be.
Just go, your life to know,
Enjoy life, be kind and be free.

It has been a better day (poem)

You life can change in a day!

It has been a better day

It has been a better day,
I have seen a clearer way,
At last! A new path for my future I have found.
My world feels so much brighter,
My back feels so much lighter,
Yesterday’s stress has fallen softly to the ground.

I have a chance to live again,
For my happiness to remain,
As my sadness disappears, fading from my sight.
My inner spirit is now free,
It feels alive once more in me,
What was going wrong is beginning to go right.

I can feel that I am stronger,
I can keep going for longer,
Whatever tomorrow brings, I will find a way.
My life will begin to grow,
A better world I will know,
And all this happiness found within me, will stay.

The path that is right for me (poem)

Be your true self.

The path that is right for me

I have chosen the path that’s the right one for me,
For it is the one that is closest to my heart.
It is the one upon which my spirit feels free,
And in truth, I have traveled along from the start.

There have been times when I may have drifted away,
There have been times when other paths I have found.
But not for long, upon them do I ever stray,
Before my feet decide they should turn me around.

My mind may get lost every now and then,
My thoughts stray from this person just here.
But somehow, my soul seems to know just when,
It is time for my heart to take over and steer.

Taking me away from all this falseness within,
Away from where the pain and heartaches go.
Back to my own path, so I can once again begin,
To be the one person that I truly know.
