You changed my life for the better (poem)

That special meeting

You changed my life for the better

The changes came so very slowly at the start,
Just a tiny crack appearing within my heart.
Before that moment, just a stillness lived within,
Then you appeared and caused those changes to begin.

I had shut the world out, turning myself away,
Even when I met you, my life was still so grey.
Yet, when you pass me by, you left something behind,
Just a little seed that my heart was sure to find.

Without my awareness, that seed started to grow,
Until the crack made in my heart started to show.
The changes had begun! there was no holding back,
And I began to see just what my life did lack.

Now it’s time to open up, for my life to change,
Time to take a look and see what to rearrange.
Remove the grey sadness, let love come shining through,
Fill my life with happiness, all because of you.

You can’t help everyone, but… (poem)

There is always some way of helping

You can’t help everyone, but…

You can’t help everyone,
But you can help out someone,
There is always some kindness you can give.
You can’t help all those in need,
But you can do a good deed,
You can show them they have a life to live.

Kindness comes in what we do,
Helping others to get through,
Showing them that someone really does care.
We can guide them on their road,
Help them to carry their load,
Encourage them and say ‘you’re getting there’.

Understanding can be shown,
When others face the unknown,
A torch we can hold to give them some light.
Help them face another day,
Pointing out a better way,
That there’s a brighter tomorrow in sight.

A bit of love from your heart,
Can help their lives to restart,
Giving them the strength to keep on going.
And when you decide to rest,
Knowing you have done your best,
In your heart, your love will still be glowing.

A Crack of Forgiveness (poem)

Open up your forgiveness

A Crack of Forgiveness

A crack of forgiveness,
Just a glimpse shining through.
A chance to readdress,
The pain living within you.

A chance to open up,
Unlock forgiveness’s door.
Retrieve forgiveness cup,
And hand it out once more.

A chance to bring healing,
To find where anger ends.
To once more start feeling,
That you can become friends.

A crack of forgiveness,
Can become a new sun.
Shining with hopefulness,
Against pain, you have won!

Please be at peace with me, my friend (poem)

Let’s become friends

Please be at peace with me, my friend

Please be at peace with me, my friend,
Even though strangers we may be.
Let our anger come to an end,
Let us set our harmony free.

Please come and sit with me, just here,
Let us spend time with each other.
Do not be afraid to come near,
Come, let us greet one another.

Please accept my hand of friendship,
Through the confusion of today.
From the cup of peace, let us sip,
Let our promises find a way.

Please talk to me about your ways,
Let me learn about how you live.
Let us talk of happier days,
With each other, learn to forgive.

Please now walk with me, by my side,
Let us find our way together.
Let understanding be our guide,
Let our peace remain forever.

Let the healing begin (poem)

It is time to heal.

This poem was written an hour ago, may it help.
Let the healing begin

Let the healing begin,
Let the sunshine back in,
Let it bring light back into our lives.
Let the darkness depart,
Let our life beat restart,
For through all that darkness, love survives.

Let our hearts start caring,
Let our peace start sharing,
Let our love mend the wounds of today.
Let hope open the door,
Let joy return once more,
And let kindness and love lead the way.

In troubled times, let peace find a way (a poem and a plea)

There is no happy future in anger.

In troubled times, let peace find a way

In troubled times, let peace find a way,
Let us treat one another as friends.
For if we cannot, then at the end of the day,
What we know as harmony, ends.
Instead of progress, our lives will decline,
Into a place full of anger and hate.
The ambassador of hope will resign,
Confused as to how we reached this state.

In troubled times, let’s find a way to heal,
To let go of the bitterness within.
Using words of peace, let us now deal,
So a path to harmony can begin.
No future is found within destruction,
No trust built whilst we are at war.
Let tomorrow bring one of construction,
Working together for peace once more.

Kindness has no barriers (poem)

In a broken world, let us be kind.

Kindness has no barriers

Kindness has no barriers, there’s no surrounding wall,
You cannot lock it away behind an iron door.
Kindness has no prejudices, it is available to all,
You cannot hide it away beneath the kitchen floor.

Kindness is so gentle, as soft as a floating feather,
Landing gracefully upon a waiting outstretched hand.
Kindness is so strong, it can survive any weather,
With its strength you can help a fallen stranger to stand.

Let kindness be your guiding light whenever darkness falls,
For with it, you can let the light of love shine bold and bright.
Let kindness be your voice, letting others hear its calls,
For with it, you can guide them through the darkest night.

Kindness is the answer when there’s nothing else to be found,
Ready to be used in times when there is no other way.
Giving kindness to yourself, as well as to those around,
Will mend a broken life and help to bring a better day.

Am I a stranger or a friend? (poem)

Let friendship bring understanding into a world of differences.

Am I a stranger or a friend?

I may have walked a different path, taken a different way,
I may have led a different life and seen a different day.
I may not have learnt with you, to see what you can be,
But does that make a difference between you and me?
So now I will ask of you, as this day comes to an end,
Just how do I stand before you, as a stranger or a friend?

Perhaps if I had known your way, had seen it long ago,
And decided that it was not for me, choosing not to know.
Then you could be right to say, that I am not like you,
To turn your face away from me and keep me out of view.
But I did not learn on your road, nor walk round a single bend,
So how do I stand before you, as a stranger or a friend?

I understand just what you say, I would like to know you more,
Perhaps if you would sit with me, there’s a seat just by the door.
Let me know of your life and I will tell you about my own,
Then after a day or two, our understanding will have grown.
Learn how to heal our wounds, to know where to stitch and mend,
And then, over time, change from a stranger into a friend.

Without Peace (World poem)

Without peace, it’s a hard life.
This poem compliments the ‘Without Blame’ poem.

Without Peace

Beyond peace, lives a time full of hope,
Beyond peace, is found a life full of care.
Found in a world where we can cope,
Found in a world of love we all share.

Before peace, anger will rule supreme,
Before peace, harmony cannot be.
Lost in a world without a dream,
Lost in a world that isn’t free.

Without peace, our lives are torn apart,
Without peace, tomorrow will be lost.
All there is to find is a broken heart,
The price of our harmony is the cost.

Let peace and love stretch out to one and all,
Before anger can get in the way.
Together, we can break down any wall,
Together, we can build a better day.

Without Blame (World poem)

Without blame, we can find peace.
This poem compliments the ‘Without peace’ poem.

Without Blame

Beyond blame, lives a time without hope,
Beyond blame, is found a life without care.
Lost in a world that cannot cope,
Lost in a world that’s going nowhere.

Before blame, can forgiveness begin,
Before blame, can understanding heal.
Found in a world where hope can win,
Found in a world where love can feel

Without blame, we can work together,
Without blame, we can all find a way,
To get us through this stormy weather,
Leading us all to a brighter day.

Let calmness lead us to renew,
The goodness found within humankind.
Together, we can all get through,
Together, a peaceful world we can find.
