The promise of a New Year (poem)

01 Jan

A new year has arrived

The promise of a New Year

The promise of a New Year,
The promise of hope is near,
As the path into your future begins anew,
The promise of a fresh start,
The promise of a new part,
Where your role in life seeks out a different view.

A chance to let go the old,
A chance to clear out the cold,
To turn and seek a new life towards the light.
A chance to let sadness end,
A chance to become a friend,
To reach out to strangers who come into your sight.

Your life can turn a new page,
Step out of histories cage,
Open the door and see the dawn of a new day.
Place your feet on life’s new track,
Shake off the past from your back,
And let the promise of a new year guide your way.
