Waking up in a new day
Waking up each day allows a new life to begin,
Bringing a fresh chance to change this world we live in.
Whatever the dawn, we begin with a new view,
Whatever this day brings, we are beginning anew.
Whatever happened yesterday is now in the past,
This day brings new hope for a future that can last.
Open your eyes and wake up within this new light,
Let yesterday’s shadows fade back into the night.
Let today bring the wonders of a world we can share,
Let tomorrow’s dreams show us the best way to get there.
Whatever this day’s ending, let one thought remain,
We have the beauty of this world to wake to again.

This poem compliments the ‘Without blame’ poem.
Without Peace
Beyond peace, lives a time full of hope,
Beyond peace, is found a life full of care.
Found in a world where we can cope,
Found in a world of love we all share.
Before peace, anger will rule supreme,
Before peace, harmony cannot be.
Lost in a world without a dream,
Lost in a world that isn’t free.
Without peace, our lives are torn apart,
Without peace, tomorrow will be lost.
All there is to find is a broken heart,
The price of our harmony is the cost.
Let peace and love stretch out to one and all,
Before anger can get in the way.
Together, we can break down any wall,
Together, we can build a better day.

Without Blame
Beyond blame, lives a time without hope,
Beyond blame, is found a life without care.
Lost in a world that cannot cope,
Lost in a world that’s going nowhere.
Before blame, can forgiveness begin,
Before blame, can understanding heal.
Found in a world where hope can win,
Found in a world where love can feel.
Without blame, we can work together,
Without blame, we can all find a way,
To get us through this stormy weather,
Leading us all to a brighter day.
Let calmness lead us to renew,
The goodness found within humankind.
Together, we can all get through,
Together, a peaceful world we can find.

A Kiss from my Heart
A special kiss sent to you from my heart,
For sadly, I cannot be where you are.
Although we may be many miles apart,
Deep within me, it does not feel so far.
I remember all those moments with you,
Everyone one of them, precious and clear.
If I shut my eyes you come into view,
And I can feel that you with me, just here.
One day I shall be beside you again,
And once more, all of our love we can share.
For now in my heart will our love remain,
Kept safe, until the day I can be there.

Why Me?
Why me? Upon this tired day,
Are the only words I want to say?
It feels today that all has gone wrong,
And in my life, I do not belong.
Upon this seat I now sit and stare,
And think of the life that once was there,
When blue skies ruled and the birds did fly,
And the sun rose gloriously up high.
Now it seems that everything’s gone grey,
My life has gone a different way.
That all my plans have fallen through,
Where, my world once bright, is now so blue.
But have I really got this view right?
Are my dreams truly out of sight?
This may not be the future I planned,
But this is my life, where I now stand!
I do not have to sit here and cry,
But instead, look up at that dark sky,
And seek for the stars that live up there,
And let them guide me to, who knows where?
Perhaps I may find a better path,
That will lead me to where I can laugh.
That those first plans were not right for me,
So let’s start walking and go and see.

From the Oceans to the Mountains
From the Earth’s deepest ocean, up to the mountains high,
Can be found all the creatures that crawl, run, swim or fly.
Life has found a way, wherever space could be found,
Whether it’s high up in the trees, or down on the ground.
Around us are all the wonders that this living world gives,
A world spinning in space, and where all of humankind lives.
This precious Earth of ours is the only world that we know,
Where life can be found, and where rivers of water flow.
A precious commodity, and one that we all share,
A world full of wonder, and for which we should all care.
Where animals can live and have the freedom to roam,
And somewhere for our children to forever call home.

An empty room in life
The empty room is waiting, all tidy and swept clean,
There is not even a cobweb anywhere to be seen.
A fine open space, sparkling and ready to be used,
Where any interesting event will not be refused.
Perhaps used by a book club, with plenty in there to read,
Or new clothes put on display, in wool, cotton and tweed.
A gardening club arrives with their flowers in full bloom,
Or an exercise group starts running rings around the room.
Perhaps a children’s party is planned in there today,
With plenty of toys and games so everyone can play.
A floor mat is put down where babies can happily crawl,
While toddlers each get to sit on a brightly coloured stool.
There are so many things you can do with an empty space,
So many things you can seek out and put into that place.
An empty life can be approached in just the same way,
There will always be something you can do with it today.

Hugs, hearts and rainbows
Accepting a hug
Accept a hug in joyfulness,
Let it wrap you in its loving embrace.
Let it pass on its happiness,
And set a smile upon your face.
Beginning with the heart
When something new,
Comes into your view,
It can bring uncertainty on where to start.
Just look within,
On where to begin,
For the best guide is your own loving heart.
Life’s inner rainbow
Life’s inner rainbow comes in many shades and hues,
Within every part of us these colours do dwell.
So whenever you feel you are just living in the blues,
Glance around, for the other colours are there as well.

New Years hopes and resolutions
Let this new year be the beginning of a new life,
Where hope can be found upon the dawn of each new day.
Where inner courage can be found to face any strife,
And that through the toils and troubles, I will find a way.
Let kindness and compassion find a path through me,
Let forgiveness bring peace to my world once more.
Let understanding and clear sight allow me to see,
Those who struggle, so I can bring them safely to shore.
And as this new year begins to mature and grow old,
Let my actions bring hope to this world all around.
So that by the years end, there are stories to be told,
Of my acts of love and kindness, that others have found.

You are my sister, you are my brother
You are my sister, to one family we belong,
You are my brother, and together we are strong.
We are the keepers, we have one world for which to care,
We are the lovers, we have one life we can all share.
Tomorrow will come, we need to seek out the right path,
Tomorrow is ours if, instead of tears, we learn to laugh.
One life we all have, with it we can learn to forgive,
One earth we all know, and the only world where we live.
We have just one chance, to give our children a tomorrow,
We have just one life, to bring happiness and not sorrow.
Will we let it all end? A world where nothing is alive,
Or will we become friends? So this precious world can survive.
