You changed my life for the better (poem)

That special meeting

You changed my life for the better

The changes came so very slowly at the start,
Just a tiny crack appearing within my heart.
Before that moment, just a stillness lived within,
Then you appeared and caused those changes to begin.

I had shut the world out, turning myself away,
Even when I met you, my life was still so grey.
Yet, when you pass me by, you left something behind,
Just a little seed that my heart was sure to find.

Without my awareness, that seed started to grow,
Until the crack made in my heart started to show.
The changes had begun! there was no holding back,
And I began to see just what my life did lack.

Now it’s time to open up, for my life to change,
Time to take a look and see what to rearrange.
Remove the grey sadness, let love come shining through,
Fill my life with happiness, all because of you.

You can’t help everyone, but… (poem)

There is always some way of helping

You can’t help everyone, but…

You can’t help everyone,
But you can help out someone,
There is always some kindness you can give.
You can’t help all those in need,
But you can do a good deed,
You can show them they have a life to live.

Kindness comes in what we do,
Helping others to get through,
Showing them that someone really does care.
We can guide them on their road,
Help them to carry their load,
Encourage them and say ‘you’re getting there’.

Understanding can be shown,
When others face the unknown,
A torch we can hold to give them some light.
Help them face another day,
Pointing out a better way,
That there’s a brighter tomorrow in sight.

A bit of love from your heart,
Can help their lives to restart,
Giving them the strength to keep on going.
And when you decide to rest,
Knowing you have done your best,
In your heart, your love will still be glowing.

A Crack of Forgiveness (poem)

Open up your forgiveness

A Crack of Forgiveness

A crack of forgiveness,
Just a glimpse shining through.
A chance to readdress,
The pain living within you.

A chance to open up,
Unlock forgiveness’s door.
Retrieve forgiveness cup,
And hand it out once more.

A chance to bring healing,
To find where anger ends.
To once more start feeling,
That you can become friends.

A crack of forgiveness,
Can become a new sun.
Shining with hopefulness,
Against pain, you have won!

Please be at peace with me, my friend (poem)

Let’s become friends

Please be at peace with me, my friend

Please be at peace with me, my friend,
Even though strangers we may be.
Let our anger come to an end,
Let us set our harmony free.

Please come and sit with me, just here,
Let us spend time with each other.
Do not be afraid to come near,
Come, let us greet one another.

Please accept my hand of friendship,
Through the confusion of today.
From the cup of peace, let us sip,
Let our promises find a way.

Please talk to me about your ways,
Let me learn about how you live.
Let us talk of happier days,
With each other, learn to forgive.

Please now walk with me, by my side,
Let us find our way together.
Let understanding be our guide,
Let our peace remain forever.

A Christmas wish (poem)

A time for peace, love and joy.

A Christmas Wish

A Christmas wish that peace can be found,
That understanding will find a way.
That towards harmony, we are all bound,
And that an outstretched hand wins the day.

A Christmas wish that our love we will share,
With those we know and those that we meet.
That our friends know that, for them we do care,
And to strangers, give a smile in the street.

A Christmas wish that we are filled with joy,
That this time brings to us all happiness.
That laughter is heard from each girl and boy,
As we relax and release our weariness.

Let love, peace and joy be our Christmas gift,
To everyone, whether a stranger or a friend.
Then across the world, harmony will drift,
Helping the wounds of humanity to mend.

Friends within Strangers (poem)

In a troubled world, we can still make friends

Friends within Strangers

We live in a world that is full of friends,
There are many that we have yet to meet.
Our journey through life has many bends,
And around some we will find one to greet.

A stranger can hide a new friend within,
With a chance to learn about who they are.
From that, your journey as friends can begin,
And, with them, you could travel far.

Every dawn brings to us new light,
To help guide our way into tomorrow,
And a new friend could come into sight,
To bring joy or to ease our sorrow.

Perhaps they need you to help them to walk,
Or maybe they could help your troubled mind.
But if we could just find the time to talk,
Then friends within strangers we could find.
