Allow yourself to begin anew (poem)

Allow yourself to begin anew

Allow yourself to begin anew,
Shake off that outdated point of view,
And pluck out those bits that brought to you, only sorrow.

Sweep away those old ideas, like dust,
Clean those dreams that have started to rust.
Open up some space to welcome a new tomorrow.

Let yourself go at a slower pace,
Remembering life is not a race,
That tomorrow will find its own way to where you are.

Pause now and then, reflect for a while,
Remembering what once made you smile,
Find a place where with your memories, you can see far.

What tomorrow brings, you may not know,
But with yesterday, just let it go,
Watch it walk away with the weight of yesterday’s load.

Allow yourself to begin anew,
Prepare yourself for a new life view,
With a light heart, start walking along tomorrow’s road.

Sweep away all the bad bits (poem)

Sweep away all the bad bits

Sweep away all the bad bits, clear them out of your mind,
Opening up some clear space for the good bits to find.
It may be an effort, there may be a lot to do,
But it will be worth it, once you have seen the task through.
Open the windows, let the staleness out of the place,
Feel the breeze of new hope drift in, let it touch your face.
Let the light of possibilities return once more,
Then turn towards tomorrow and open up its door.

Sweet memories that are yet to be (poem)

Sweet memories that are yet to be

Sweet memories that are yet to be,
A better future that I can see.
A promising start for tomorrow,
A life that will lessen my sorrow.
It’s not quite here, but it’s not too far,
Its light is there, like a shining star.
Soon it will be a part of my life,
Ready to sweep away any strife.

Sitting in this moment, inbetween,
I can reflect on all that I’ve seen.
Not everything was bad, that I know,
But some things, I will gladly let go.
Some things are worth keeping, tucked away,
As memories for another day.
The rest I will leave here in a stack,
For I may occasionally look back.

I can see the time’s arrived at last,
Time for me to let go of the past.
That those sweet memories will now start,
As I stand up from here and depart.
I have no idea what I will find,
As I now let the future unwind.
As I start walking towards the new,
Already there is a better view.

Rainbows within tears (poem)

Rainbows within tears

I thought I caught a rainbow,
Reflecting in your sad eyes.
Bringing to your eyes a glow,
Reflecting the light in the skies.

The rainbow is shedding tears,
Raindrops of colour and light.
Droplets of your pain and fears,
As the storm clouds fade from sight.

Beyond the rainbow is the sun,
To dry up the sadness within.
And once those teardrops are done,
Then its warmth will come on in.

Rainbows within tears are found,
As the sun touches your face.
Gently falling to the ground,
Teardrops seeking a new place.

Then once the teardrops have dried,
The rainbow may fade from view.
But it’s just moved on inside,
For the rainbow lives within you.

Time heals all wounds (poem)

Time heals all wounds

Let time pass, and just let things be,
Release this moment and set it free.
No need to hunt, nor seek to find,
But rest a while with a peaceful mind.

Let time pass, for this time will end,
And only with time will your heart mend.
Only with rest, will your strength regrow,
And only in peace will your pains go.

Let time pass, although it’s hard to do,
Only time can heal those wounds in you.
Trust that your heart knows its own way,
And is leading you to a brighter day.

Let time pass, let the future appear,
For a better world is coming near.
Within you is the strength to survive,
Within you, tomorrow is alive.

It has been a better day (poem)

It has been a better day

It has been a better day,
I have seen a clearer way,
At last! A new path for my future I have found.
My world feels so much brighter,
My back feels so much lighter,
Yesterday’s stress has fallen softly to the ground.

I have a chance to live again,
For my happiness to remain,
As my sadness disappears, fading from my sight.
My inner spirit is now free,
It feels alive once more in me,
What was going wrong is beginning to go right.

I can feel that I am stronger,
I can keep going for longer,
Whatever tomorrow brings, I will find a way.
My life will begin to grow,
A better world I will know,
And all this happiness found within me, will stay.

An Extra Day! (poem)

An Extra Day!

An extra day! And one that was never planned to be.
So, by good fortune, I just happen to have it free.
What shall I make of it? For there is so much I could do.
So much that I could explore, before this day is through.

As this day begins, I have no place that I must go,
So, if I wanted to, I could just watch the garden grow,
Sit back, take it easy… Or shall I go out for a walk?
Seek the company of friends and find a place we can talk.

Perhaps there’s somewhere I could go, help out for the day,
And make this world a better place, in some special way.
I know that within me, I have some skills that I can share,
So maybe have a day, where I show the world that I care.

Let this day end in a better place than at the start,
Let this day end with knowing I have given it my heart.
That whether I was busy, calm, alone or with friends,
Peace I did find, and happiness is there when it ends.
