The wind within a storm (poem)

The wind comes alive in a storm

The wind within a storm

Here comes a fresh breeze,
Brushing through the trees,
Nudging the leaves to one side.
Branches gently sway,
A storm’s on its way,
From this storm nothing can hide.

Strong winds start to blow,
Seeking high and low,
Every crack they will find.
Racing in and out,
Running all about,
Frequently changing their mind.

Some petals break free,
Setting off to see,
What else there is to be found.
The grass laying flat,
To avoid all that,
Staying closely to the ground.

Some seeds are released,
Into this wild beast,
Wherever it blows, they go.
Flying through the air,
They will land somewhere,
Taking root, so they can grow.

This storm’s going past,
It’s fading at last,
Just a few white clouds remain.
The wind becomes calm,
There’s no more alarm,
The grass stands up once again.

Blue skies from Storm clouds (poem)

Clear skies return

Blue skies from Storm clouds

There’s a touch of blue,
Coming into view,
Are those grey storm clouds departing at last?
There’s just a small zone,
Standing all alone,
Does it mean this storm is now in the past?

It’s slightly less dark,
It’s not quite so stark?
There’s another patch of blue I can see.
There’s a patchwork sky,
I can see up high,
From those storm clouds, the sky is breaking free.

There’s more blue than grey,
A brightening day,
Even the sun is now showing its face.
It is getting warm,
From this fading storm,
As the sun begins to dry up this place.

Now it is just blue,
With no clouds in view,
The storms but a memory in my mind.
The sun is on show,
So out I shall go,
To enjoy the freshness, it’s left behind.
