Sweet memories that are yet to be (poem)

Sweet memories that are yet to be

Sweet memories that are yet to be,
A better future that I can see.
A promising start for tomorrow,
A life that will lessen my sorrow.
It’s not quite here, but it’s not too far,
Its light is there, like a shining star.
Soon it will be a part of my life,
Ready to sweep away any strife.

Sitting in this moment, inbetween,
I can reflect on all that I’ve seen.
Not everything was bad, that I know,
But some things, I will gladly let go.
Some things are worth keeping, tucked away,
As memories for another day.
The rest I will leave here in a stack,
For I may occasionally look back.

I can see the time’s arrived at last,
Time for me to let go of the past.
That those sweet memories will now start,
As I stand up from here and depart.
I have no idea what I will find,
As I now let the future unwind.
As I start walking towards the new,
Already there is a better view.

Dawn of new hope (poem)

Dawn of new hope

The stillness before tomorrow, of what is yet to be,
The promise of what’s to come amid uncertainty.
What will this dawn bring with it in the coming of its light?
Just what world will there be? What will it bring into our sight?

Time moves forever forward, so it won’t be yesterday,
But some bits will still be here, not everything goes away.
With luck time has discarded all that pain we do not need,
And within that cleared emptiness, planted new hopes seed.

Forgive and let go (poem)

Forgive and let go

Forgive and let go, do not hold onto angers grip,
From the cup of forgiveness, offer others a sip.
In the battle of confusion let forgiveness win,
Call a truce to hating and let forgiveness begin.

The wounds may go deep, festering over many years,
Between all of us we have all shed too many tears.
But within us we can find a better tomorrow,
A world of forgiveness that can banish that sorrow.

Forgiveness can begin with all the things you have done,
Don’t be hard on yourself when forgiveness never won.
Just because you were unable to forgive yesterday,
Does not mean you can’t let forgiveness now find a way.

Let go off your own anger, toss it out from your heart,
Let forgiveness enter in, it’s a good place to start.
Forgiveness does not mean surrendering who you are,
But beginning a new life where peace can travel far.

A new future can be found (poem)

A new future can be found

Beyond sorrow and sadness there will be hope,
Beyond darkness there will be found a new light.
Beyond confusion, there will be a way to cope,
Beyond the horizon, a new world is in sight.

Beyond this moment, a new future can be found,
Born from the dreams of everything that has been.
Growing from the seeds from the world all around,
Built upon all of the wonders we have seen.

Our tomorrows live within all that we do,
Our yesterdays are there to show us the way.
Within our hearts lives all that we need to get through,
The gift of our love taking us beyond today.

I haven’t run out of my dreams yet (poem)

I haven’t run out of my dreams yet

I haven’t run out of my dreams yet,
Although it may now seem that way.
It just that I sometimes forget,
To remember them upon this day.

They are all still there deep within,
Safe and secure within my heart.
So, perhaps it’s time to begin,
To seek out a dream to restart.

I will take a moment or two,
Remembering what they all were.
Then pluck one back into view,
And with my life, give it a stir.

It can wash away all the gloom,
That this world has installed in me.
In my mind, make plenty of room,
Preparing to set the dream free.

I will open my life once more,
To all that the dream has to give.
I will seek out happiness door,
And let this dream begin to live.

The ships of Love and Hope (poem)

The ships of Love and Hope

Within the storms of chaos,
Ride the ships of Love and Hope,
And when you are at a loss,
They will come to help you cope.
Sailing through inner turmoil,
Rescuing you from despair,
Guiding you to firmer soil,
And leaving you safely there.

Their sails stand tall and strong,
Their rudders guide you to the new,
Upon those ships you belong,
As they sail into your view.
From the raging sea of life,
They will lift you up onboard,
A refuge from all that strife,
From all that pain and discord.

Take the help they bring to you,
Let Love and Hope guide you now,
Trust in the changes they do,
For Love and Hope will know how.
Their ships are always around,
Sailing through every wave,
And when you want to be found,
They will always come and save.

Let the search for a new life begin (poem)

Let the search for a new life begin

Let the search for a new life begin,
Seeking a path away from the old.
Chasing all of the shadows within,
Seeking for a candle you can hold.
Turning your heart from its darkest night,
Turning your life towards a new dawn.
Letting fresh hope come into your sight,
Letting go of the dark and forlorn.

Opening up all of life’s windows,
Letting tomorrow come through the door.
Moving to where hopes sunrise now shows,
Letting your sadness be there no more.
Turning away from yesterday’s pain,
Turning towards where your life can restart.
Tomorrow’s hope is there to regain,
Just let its light back into your heart.

A life tossed into confusion (poem)

A life tossed into confusion

A life tossed into confusion, there’s too much going on!
What was is no more, just where in this world do I belong?
What I knew in my yesterday is not part of today,
The life that was within myself has gone another way.

The outside’s also changing, not all is where it should be,
Quite what will stay and what will go, I have yet to see.
Some things are being changed by others, some are all my own,
Some things won’t change at all, I think they are best left alone.

For now let’s deal with the inner me, find some shape once more,
Or at least hold it all together, not spread around the floor.
I will sit a while, reflect a bit, watch the clouds go by,
Maybe just accept all this, without understanding why.

My life is no longer what I thought life was all about,
But I know with my life, it’s up to me to sort it out.
Whichever way life tosses me, these changes I must face,
Wherever I land in life, I will explore that new place.

Life is neither good or bad, I’m just facing the unknown,
A scary place when you see that the past you have outgrown.
I’ll just let the changes happen, then choose the path to take,
Whatever happens in my life, that choice is mine to make.

Sailing through a crazy world (poem)

Sailing through a crazy world

In amongst the craziness of this modern life,
Can we find a place where calmness can still prevail?
In amongst these raging seas of trouble and strife,
Can we find a harbour from where hope can set sail?

Those storm clouds of confusion have spread all around,
With thunderbolts of anger lighting up the skies.
Wherever we look, there is no clear ground to be found,
There is no hilltop seen from where the flag of truce flies.

Just what do we do when the world has lost its way?
Is there anything that I can do to change things?
There is no clear path, when I look around this day,
No better life promised with what tomorrow brings.

Perhaps I cannot change anything around me,
So maybe I should stop, just let it all pass me by.
Perhaps there is no better future that I can see,
So maybe it is in today that I should try.

If the outside is lost, then I should let it all go,
Let it take all its craziness out of my view.
Perhaps it is the inner me I should get to know,
Seek within myself for a life I can renew.

I can change who I am, replacing anger with hope,
I can change my life, try to toss out all that sorrow.
Within, I’ll build a ship of love, then release its rope,
And let the wind of kindness steer it through tomorrow.

Just let tomorrow come (poem)

Just let tomorrow come

I can see that the tears upon your face are drying,
Even if to me, those tears you are still denying.
I know to yourself, that you want to keep it all within,
That in this pit of sadness, you feel you cannot win.
But your life is not over, it has only just begun,
And you will find in your life, that there is still a sun.
Just let tomorrow come, but for now just let things go,
Just let tomorrow come, for now just let your tears flow.

Do not fight this moment, but just leave this day alone,
Such a depth of sadness, you have never before known.
Your life may be in pieces, or that is how it seems,
But beyond all this sadness, you still have all your dreams.
You still have a future, it’s only lost for today,
And tomorrow’s happiness will, to you find its way.
Just let tomorrow come, but for now just let things be,
Just let tomorrow come, for now let your tears fall free.

Today will not be easy, and your life may feel slow,
I know you are convinced that this pain will never go.
But trust me when I say to you, this will never last,
That with a little patience, it will become your past.
Once this day is over, things will not then feel so blue,
For you will smile again, and the sun will shine on you.
Just let tomorrow come, but for now just hug your heart,
Just let tomorrow come, for a better life will start.
