Let kindness and love reappear once more
Let kindness and love reappear once more,
Within your heart you have plenty in store.
You may have forgotten that love can win,
So take some kindness, and let love begin.
Whatever the problems, they cannot last,
One day they will become part of your past.
The pain may be great, and so hard to bear,
But within your heart, you have love to share.
Love defeats fear, kindness cures the pain,
Between them, no hate can ever remain.
Between them, a new future can be grown,
Healing begins wherever they are shown.
Reach out to others, touch them with your heart,
Upon that road of peace, your love can start.
Your love can reach out to all those in need,
Your kindness can help you to plant hopes seed.
Between them, a new tomorrow is found,
When kindness and love gets spread around.

The Nature of Twlight
When it’s neither day nor night, but somewhere in between.
When the distant horizon cannot be clearly seen.
When evenings are not quite dark, and mornings not quite light.
The natural world dwells in the time of twilight.
In the dawn, the birds drown the night away with their song.
In the evening, the birds know in their nests they belong.
In the twilight, their singing cascades across the land.
A sign that changes within nature are now at hand.
In dawn’s twilight, bats fly back into their roosts up high.
In evening’s twilight they stretch their wings, ready to fly.
At sunset the bats all depart, soaring through the air.
Twisting and turning, catching the insects flying there.
Owls and hedgehogs wake up at the setting of the sun.
Just as the honeybees know their buzzing times are done.
Twilight, a time when the natural world gets rearranged.
A time when the creatures of day and night are exchanged.

Getting to the heart of love
Love is at the heart of our lives from the very start,
Through all our joys and sadness, love plays a special part.
Sometimes your love shines from your heart, clear for all to view,
Other times your heart feels like it is breaking in two.
On days when your heart is too painful a place to stay,
Then just seek out a place where your love can find a way.
Love will be waiting out there for you to discover,
And where love exists, so your own heart will recover.
Love is found within those moments you give in caring
Love is not meant for keeping, but is there for sharing.
Love is not for collecting, just to be stored within,
But for releasing, so that your own life can begin.
Any act of kindness will bring your love out on show,
Your love needs no reward to cause your heart to regrow.
Just open up your heart once more and then you will find,
The love in your heart starts flowing, just by being kind.

Olympics, uniting the world
Let the Olympics games bring together our nations,
And within their playing, bring just peaceful relations.
Let the flames of hope and understanding light its way,
Burning brightly throughout all of the games that we play.
Let peace and goodwill be the rules these games are played by,
As we all come together under a common sky.
And when we depart back to the world that we all share,
Keep the memories of knowing that peace was found there.

Sweep the good into Tomorrow
Sweep the good bits of today into tomorrow,
Leaving all of the bad bits of the past behind.
You can abandon all of yesterday’s sorrow.
For there’s a better life out there for you to find.
Just take a pause from this life you are living in,
Then from out of life’s cupboard, take hold of time’s broom.
Sweep aside all of yesterday’s mess trapped within,
So you can give your life here today some more room.
Sweep off those cobwebs of gloom hanging on your past.
Let the breeze of hope blow life’s dark shadows away.
Toss out all of yesterday’s dreams that did not last,
And move the good bits from your past into today.
Tomorrow is waiting beyond today’s deep night,
Ready to bring into your life, a better view.
As the dawn breaks and tomorrow comes into sight,
Sweep in the good bits, and start off on the new.

Not getting started
If I am to get there, then I’d better start to run,
So others tell me, just in case I miss all the fun.
There will be loud music, with lots of dancing as well,
Which means that if I want to chat, I will have to yell.
Friends call me urgently, so afraid I might forget,
But if my truth must be told, I haven’t started yet.
There is a new shop opening up in town today,
There’s bound to be some special offers out on display.
My friends are all so excited, making such a fuss,
Saying that if my car breaks down, then just take the bus.
I see it’s raining, so I must prepare to get wet,
But I just have to admit, I haven’t started yet.
I watch the world rush around me on this busy day,
Briefly people come close, before going their own way.
So rarely a word is spoken, just a brief hello,
They tell me that I could miss out! If I go too slow.
That If I don’t speed up, my choices I will regret,
But within my calmer life, that hasn’t started yet.

The shortest day has passed on by
The shortest day has passed on by,
Which means spring must be on its way.
But no matter how hard I try,
I see no sign of it today.
Lighter days have not yet been told,
That they should be on their way back.
Outside it is still far too cold,
All those signs of spring, the trees lack.
The morning frost covers the ground,
Spring bulbs are hiding deep below.
There’s not a snowdrop to be found,
Daffodil tips refuse to show.
Winter storms are crossing the land,
Their winds blowing the clouds along.
Ice reaches out its long cold hand.
Birds refuse to sing their spring song.
The shortest day has departed,
It’s walked pass us and out of view.
Let’s hope spring soon get restarted,
Bringing back warmth and skies of blue.

There is a much better year coming
There is a much better year coming,
All ready and just waiting to start.
As this New Year comes along drumming,
Welcome its music into your heart.
It brings a new melody to play,
A chance for us to sing a new song.
A chance to blow those old tunes away,
And let its spirit make us feel strong.
With its arrival, let the old go,
Toss those broken dreams into the past.
There is a better future to know,
From which new dreams can be built to last.
Yesterday may not change overnight,
But the New Year lets us change its view.
We can let kindness come into sight,
Then mix it with love to start anew.
Let the hope of the New Year come in,
Give it a seat that will keep it near.
From your heart let the future begin,
Then seek out the best for the New Year.

Between Christmas and New Year
Between Christmas and New Year,
Let the joy and fun stay near,
Share this moment with kindness in your heart.
Whether it’s for the Lord’s birth,
Or a new year on the Earth,
Spend your time celebrating this new start.
Let this be a special week,
With good times for you to seek,
Just let those good memories come your way.
Go with a friend for a walk,
Or just sit somewhere to talk,
You don’t need a crowd to enjoy the day.
Perhaps split up what you do,
Giving some time just for you,
And giving time for friends here and there.
Catch up with your family,
Going there for cake and tea,
Your greatest gift will be the love you share.

Let the World spin on its own
Life is spinning round you as you try to find a way,
Confusion replacing certainty on this long day.
When your normality starts to become the unknown,
Make this the moment to let the world spin on its own.
Stepping back will not stop the real world from spinning round,
Harmony returns when you toss your stress to the ground.
Take a walk somewhere, perhaps visit the countryside,
Stroll by the river, then watch nature from a bird hide.
Slow your life down and leave the real world to walk on by,
The sun doesn’t need your help as it crosses the sky.
Life carries on, whether you run or stroll through this day,
The dawn will still arrive as the world spins on its way.
Let all the tension leave you, just go off and explore,
Wander round a park that you visited long before.
Be pleasantly surprised when you see how much has grown,
Life’s amazing when you let the world spin on its own.
